If you have 3 A/L S passes in any subjects in Sri Lanka, you can join the University Colleges under the University of Vocational Technology for free. You can obtain National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) at Levels 5 and 6 and thereafter a Degree (NVQ 7) at the University of Vocational Technology (UoVT).
What are NVQ Qualifications?
NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification. These are practical, skills-based qualifications that prepare you for specific careers. The University Colleges offer:
- – NVQ Level 5 National Diploma
- – NVQ Level 6 Higher National Diploma
- – NVQ Level 7 Degree at after completion of Level 5 and 6, you can join UoVC to get a degree
These qualifications are designed to provide you with industry-relevant skills and knowledge.
Entry Requirements
You can enroll in these programs with:
- – G.C.E (A/L) 3 passes in relevant streams OR
- – NVQ Level 4 in a relevant occupation (after O/L you can join the NVQ level 3 course)
Course Duration
- – NVQ 5: 1 Year and 6 Months (including On the Job Training)
- – NVQ 6: 1 Year and 6 Months (including On the Job Training)
The total duration for both levels is three years and two months.
