Introducing the new BSc Honours Degree in Polymer Science and Industrial Management offered by the Department of Polymer Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardnepura.
The University of Sri Jayewardenepura has launched a new course for 2023 A/L A Level students: the BSc Honours Degree in Polymer Science and Industrial Management. This four-year honours degree is offered for students from the Biological Science and Physical Science streams who have completed Chemistry, Physics, and either Biology or Combined Mathematics.
This program uniquely combines Polymer Science with Industrial Management. While half of the coursework focuses on the scientific aspects of polymers, the other half is dedicated to industrial management, entrepreneurship, and essential skills like English communication. This dual approach ensures that graduates are proficient in the technical aspects of polymer science and equipped with the management and communication skills necessary for leadership roles in the industry.
Unlike other science degree courses, this degree includes two industrial training programs. These hands-on experiences allow students to gain valuable insights into the real-world applications of their studies, enhancing their job prospects significantly. By graduation, students will have practical experience that sets them apart in the job market.
