Education Minister Susil Premajayantha today (5 July 2022) announced the dates for the 2022 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination, the G.C.E. Ordinary level examination, and the Grade 05 Scholarship exam.
Accordingly, he said that the G.C.E. A/L examination will be held from November 28 to December 23, 2022, while the Grade 5 Scholarship exam is to be held on November 27. (Ada Derana)
28 April 2022. - Examination Department Commissioner General LM. D. Dharmasena announced these dates when addressing the media on 28 April 2022. Accordingly, the 2022 A/L examination will be held from October 17 to November 12, while the Grade Five scholarship examination is scheduled to be held on October 6.
The Commissioner-general stated that the Department has not called for applications for the examination as yet.
Update 2 June 2022 -
The GCE Advanced Level Examination 2022 will probably be held in October and November this year, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
However the date of the examination will be decided after reviewing the information obtained from the Examinations Department, he added.
The Additional Secretary to the Education Ministry will gather information from all provinces to ascertain how far syllabuses have been covered. Besides data will be analyzed at the provincial, district, and zonal levels, paying special attention to the extent to which the relevant syllabi are covered, the Minister said. The dates for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination 2022 will also be decided in due course, the Minister said. Education Minister Premjayanth stated this at a media briefing held at the Government Information Department yesterday (2).
The Minister this year’s schools are likely to be held till December 22 or 23 of 2022 before the start of the year 2023. Measures will be taken to conduct schools on days as much as possible as there is a limited number of days remaining for cover syllabuses. Therefore he would discuss the matter with all parties in the field of education.
Minister Premjayanth also stated that efforts are being made to obtain a grant for the printing of text books required for the year 2023 and for the provision of uniforms.
