GCE O/L 2020 Examination date from 1- 11 March 2021

Minister of Education Prof. G.L. Peiris has announced that  G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination of the year 2020 will take place from the 01st to 11th of March in 2021. He minister this revealed during a press conference held in Battaramulla today (07).

In August, the Education Ministry said the 2020 O/L Examination will be pushed back to mid-January next year due to the Covid-19 situation in the country.

However, it was postponed for a second time, taking into account the developing second wave of the novel coronavirus.

A total of 154 exam halls will be arranged within Colombo 1–15 and 24,600 candidates are expected to sit for the exam from these areas, Prof. Peiris said further.

The examination was set to take place from 18th to 27th of January in 2021.

Earlier News 
This time period will be a special vacation for all schools.

A study leave period will be given from 01st of January 2021 to 17th of January 2021 only to the students sitting for G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination.

The schools will be reopened from 01st of February 2021 after the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination.
