Usually applicants have to visit Department of Examinations at their Battaramulla office and apply for Certificates of General Certificate of Education ordinary level and advanced level certificates.
However under the direction of the Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasa, now you can obtain G.C.E. ordinary level (O/L) and advanced level (A/L) examination certificates online.
You can now log in to the “Request Examination Certificates online” web site of Sri Lanka Department of Examinations and provide required information. After payment is being made, you will receive your certificate by post within 24-48 hours. Ministry of Education says anyone within the country or even living abroad can obtain these certificates less than 48 hours duration of time.
