While you may have worked hard, for A/L exam, sometimes your Z-score might not meet the highly competitive cutoffs for popular degree programs. But here’s the good news for 2024 A/L students who got results recently — the University of Moratuwa offers an alternative pathway through aptitude tests for several prestigious creative degree programs.
These tests are designed to identify students with natural talent, creative thinking abilities, and potential that might not be fully reflected in their A/L results.
The University of Moratuwa is currently accepting applications for the following degree programs for the 2024/2025 academic year:
Each of these programs offers excellent career prospects and allows you to pursue your creative passions while earning a highly respected qualification from one of Sri Lanka’s premier universities.
To be eligible to sit for the aptitude tests, you must first meet the minimum university entrance qualifications as per the UGC Handbook 2024/2025, Section 1.2 (Obtain three ‘S’ passes at the 2024 A/L exam and 30% for the Common General Paper). The specific requirements vary by program:
Payments should be made to the University of Moratuwa Vice Chancellor’s account (Account No. 306836, Bank of Ceylon, Katubedda Branch). ATM transactions, cheques, and postal/money orders will not be accepted.
All online applications must be submitted before 6:00 PM on May 14, 2025.
While the university doesn’t provide specific details about the test content, aptitude tests for these creative programs typically assess:
The tests are designed to identify students with natural talent and creative potential rather than just testing academic knowledge.
