Information systems (IS) is a rapidly growing field in Sri Lanka, and there is a high demand for qualified professionals. Graduates of information systems programs have many opportunities to advance their careers and earn high salaries.
The IS degree programmes are designed to prepare students to be IT professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge in analyzing and understanding business problems and applying information technology to solve them. The students will learn how to interpret client needs, define systems to meet these needs, develop applications, manage operations, and act as technical intermediaries between management and other technical staff (UCSC, IS degree).

Aptitude Test

The future of information systems (IS) jobs is neither entirely positive nor negative. There will still be a need for IS professionals who have the skills to design, develop, and implement complex information systems. However, the nature of IS jobs is changing. IS professionals will need to develop new skills, such as cloud computing and AI, in order to stay ahead of the curve.
Information systems (IS) jobs are at risk in the future due to a number of factors, including automation, outsourcing, technological shifts, and economic conditions. However, some IS roles related to emerging technologies and cybersecurity remain in demand.
