A/L students, their parents, and teachers want to know the exact date of the GCE A/L 2023 examination. Knowing the exam date is essential to plan and prepare for the examination as well as to plan future higher education and careers.
Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha told Parliament yesterday (9 March) that A/L 2023 examination date will be delayed due to due to the present trade union action by University staff, because paper marking of last 2022 A/L examination could not be started.
The Ministry of Education has issued a tentative timetable for the 2023 school year up to February 2024. According to this schedule, the A/L 2023 examination will take place from 10th October to 13th November 2023. That is in the school vacation time after the second term. However, we still await an official examination date from the Ministry of Education and the Department of Examinations.
As you know, A/L 2022 Examination will take place from 23rd January to 17th February 2023. Once the results come out, they should give about three months of study time for the next exam (2023 A/L). Therefore A/L 2023 examination date will depend on the date of release of results of the A/L 2022 examination
