BPO and KPO are two types of outsourcing strategies adopted by multinational companies to obtain various services and solutions.
Several services, such as marketing, operations, human resources, technical support, and customer support are outsourced to a third-party service provider to reduce costs, save time, and to free up labor.
Business process outsourcing, or BPO – outsourcing non-primary tasks to a third-party service provider to save business costs and boost productivity and efficiency. Eg. call centers, technical assistance, human resources training, and recruitment.
Skills needed – You need good communication skills to enter these jobs.
KPO – Knowledge process outsourcing – knowledge and processes such as Data Analytics, investment research services, legal procedures, and marketing research analysis are outsourced to another organization.

IBPO – The Institute of Business Process Outsourcing – This is a Government of Sri Lanka initiative and it is a part of the National Youth Corps under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development. They have a special license from BPO Certification Institute (BCI), the United States, which is the world’s largest standards and certification body for the business process industry.
