University Grants Commission (UGC) has published a notice in their website, and published an Advertisement in several Sinhala and English news papers called “Notice on University Admissions 2019/2020”.
The method adopted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to select students to Universities based on the results of the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination held in August 2019 under old and new syllabi.

In this document they described the legal procedure adopted in 2011 A/L where similar situation occurred at that time with old and new syllabus. .
Also it says that, based on the advice of the experts’ group, UGC had informed the candidates that the composite average method is used when selecting students for courses of study from both group of students for the Academic Year 2019/2020. Hence deviating from this method will lead to unnecessary legal implications and decided to release cut off marks for the Academic Year 2019/2020 according to the method already declared in advance.
