Sri Lankan University ranking 2020 based on three World Ranking systems are presented here

Webometrics Web Ranking
Webometrics released 2020 January edition of World University Web Ranking. According to this latest ranking University of Peradeniya became the best University in Sri Lanka, while University of Colombo and Moratuwa secured 2nd and 3rd ranks.
University of Ruhuna, Kelaniya and Sri Jayewardenepura were in 4th place. 5th and 6th ranks. Compared with last year (2019 July) ranking, many universities have improved their world ranking status.
Eg Peradeniya improved from 1981 to 1895, Colombo from 2023 to 2112, Jayewardenepura from 2960 to 2806.
2 – QS World Ranking
QS is an Internationally accepted one of the serious University ranking system. QS has only selected four Sri Lankan universities in their 2020 ranking: Peradeniya, Colombo, Moratuwa, Jaffna and University of Sri Jayewardnepura.
3 – THE – The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 includes almost 1,400 universities across 92 countries, standing as the largest and most diverse university rankings ever to date.
The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Only two Sri Lankan Universities included in this Prestigious ranking system: University of Peradeniya and Kelaniya.

ARWU adopts six objective indicators to rank world universities, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, the number of Highly Cited Researchers and the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index – Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index produced by Web of Science Group, and per capita performance. About 1800 universities are actually ranked by ARWU every year and the best 1000 universities are published.
