Colombo International Book Fair 2017 will be held from Friday, 15th September to Sunday 24th September from 9 am to 9 pm at the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07) .
Organizers of this popular book exhibition, Sri Lanka Book Publishers Association said that there will be around 300 – 400 local and foreign book stalls.
This has been a very popular event in Sri Lanka where people and school children buy novels, non fiction books text books and even exercise books, as they are given discounts here.
Best selling book in the history of BMICH book exhibition was “Rana Maga osse Nadikadal” and “Road to Nadikadal” written by Major General Kamal Gunaratne.
Pros:
Large number of books to select. Huge number of books in one Place. Discounts on many books. All popular book sellers participate. Social Events and Discussions. Food stalls and other entertainment. You may get chance to meet Authors
Cons:
Over crowded. Hard to find a book you want to buy. Many sellers do not categorize their books. Difficult to park vehicles
