Apply University admissions 2015 based on 2014 A/L – Online registration

You can now apply for University Admission for the academic year 2014/2015 based on the results of the G.C.E. (A/L) 2014. The Admissions Handbook including the rules and regulations for University Admission is now available for purchasing at the University Grants Commission and distributing Agent Bookshops countrywide.


You can fill and submit your application for university admission online or by post. Instructions to submit the online application form for university admission are given in the, PART THREE of the Admissions Handbook valid for the academic year 2014/2015.

Closing Date

The closing date for submission of applications is 29th May 2015.

Submit Forms Online

Candidates who do not have internet facilities are facilitated to apply for university admission online at Regional Centres of the Open University of Sri Lanka (NAC Centres), Provincial and Zonal ICT Centres of the Ministry of Education and Nenasala Centres under Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) countrywide during opening hours subject to the conditions set out by each centre. Contact details of all such centres are, given as Annex 5 of the Admissions Handbook.

Having completed the other requirements as given in the Admission Handbook, the printed application form generated by the online system should be sent by registered post addressed to the Assistant Secretary (University Admissions), University Grants Commission, No, 20, Ward Place, Colombo 07 on or before May 29, 2015. The printed applications should be sent only by registered post and candidates are not allowed to submit applications to the UGC by hand.

For certain courses of study aptitude tests will be conducted by the relevant Universities. Applications will be called for those aptitude tests by press notices. The students are advised to be vigilant and forward their applications for aptitude tests to the relevant Universities responding to the paper advertisements and sit & pass those tests.
