The 16th Internaional Book Fair 2014 will be held from 10 -17 September at BMICH, Colombo. This is organised by the Sri Lanka Book Publishers’ Association. According to the organiser, CIBF is Sri Lanka’s best attended and largest consumer Fair visited by a million customers during the nine days. It has already established itself as a premier fair in the South Asia and is poised to be a major fair in the region with many publishers from Europe participating as well.
Special discounts are available to all book lovers who attend the fair. While students in uniform, young children and members of the armed services are admitted free, a nominal fee of is charged for others.
In the evenings there are cultural events including dramas and music.
The book fair is open from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
Education Department has also made funds available to schools for staff to visit the fair and to purchase the latest books.
