Apply A/L classes in Government Schools based on O/L results

Update 5 May 2020 – Application Form for GCE (A/L) in Government Schools

If your school does not have Advanced Level classes for a particular stream of study (Science, Mathematics, Commerce, Arts or Technology stream), then you can apply another school to follow A/L classes. Selection of students will be based on your O/L results, extra-curricular activities and non-availability of A/L grades at your school. The selection will be made according to the circulars issued by Ministry of Education.

General Qualification to follow GCE (A/L) in government schools:

Passed O/L examination in Six core subjects including Language and Mathematics and obtain Credits for three subjects.

For A/L Arts stream:
You need to Credit pass in one of the subject you wish to follow in A/L.

For A/L Commerce stream:
You need a Credit pass in Either Mathematics, Entrepreneur Education or Business studies and Accountancy

For A/L Mathematics (Physical science) stream
You need a Credit pass for Mathematics, and you should pass Science

For A/L Science stream
You need a Credit pass for Science, and you should pass Mathematics.

For A/L Technology stream
