According to the latest Webometrics rankings issued in January 2013, PIM, NIBM and SLIM became top three Business Schools in Sri Lanka. However Management Faculties in National Universities are not included here as they are categorized under University web ranking. .
Webometrics rank Web presence of Business Schools & MBA granting institutions worldwide from July 2008. The Web Ranking is published two times (at the end of January & July) per year by the same institute who publishes very popular Webometrics ranking for Word Universities. The “Ranking Web of World Business Schools” is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.

Methodology
Web ranking is based on following quantitative web indicators from the most important search engines. The methodology is similar, but not exactly the same, to those use in their university web ranking system:
Size (S). Number of pages recovered from the four largest engines: Google, Yahoo, Live Search and Exalead.
Visibility (V). The total number of unique external links received (inlinks) by a site can be only confidently obtained from Yahoo Search and Exalead.
Rich Files (R). Only the number of text files in Acrobat format (.pdf) extracted from Google and Yahoo are considered.
Scholar (Sc). Using Google Scholar database we collect the normalised total recent papers published between 2007 and 20011.
Sri Lankan Busieness schools in National Universities.
Following are some of the major business schools (Management Faculties) in Sri Lanka. However these are not in the ranking as they are categorized under university web ranking.
University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) – The USJ Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce is the first and foremost Faculty in Sri Lanka committed to excellence in management education. They aslo offer MBA and Phd programs.
University of Colombo – The Faculty of Management &Finance of the University of Colombo offers Bachelors degree courses and the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of Colombo (FGS-Colombo) offer postgraduate study programmes.
University of Kelaniya – The Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes.

Eastern University, Sri Lanka – The University’s Faculty of Commerce and Management offers programmes
