Best Books Novels, poetry and lyrics awarded in 2012

Swarna Pusthaka awards, Godage Awards and Vidyodaya Sinhala Literature awards select best books each year. These awards are made for poetry, lyrics, short story, novel and news articles. You can buy these books form BMICH book fair or from leading bookshops in Colombo.

Finally selcted Novels of Godage Awards and Swarna Pusthaka awards for 2012 include novels by Tennoson Perera, Karunadasa Suriyarachchi, Shanthi Dissanayaka, Kapila Kumara Kalinga, Shamel Jayakody and Upeksha Nuwanrhini

Vidyodaya Litarary Awards was also conduted by Sinhala and Communication Society of University of Sri Jayewardeneupra. Selected books are listed below:

Best poetry collection- Ahela Amathumakata Aheremi by Manjula Dewiverdanage
හොඳම පද්‍ය සංග්‍රහය – මංජුල වෙඩිවර්දනගේ “ඇහැල ඇමතුමකට ඇහැරෙමි”

Best lyrics collection- Mage Punchi Rosa Male by Dhammika Bandara
හොඳම ගේය පද සංග්‍රහය – ධම්මික බණ්‌ඩාරගේ “මගේ පුංචි රෝස මලේa”

Best Newspaper article collection- Sonduru Sarisara, Hanamitiya Dige by Saman Athauda and Iilmahe biligath Wiplawawadiyage Awasan Horawa by Prasanna Sanjeewa Thennakoon.
