New Z–score values for the GCE (A/L) examination 2011 following a Supreme Court order to calculate Z–score for the old and new syllabi separately, were released by Department of Examinations. The new z-scores released can be obtained via the website, www.doenets.lk.
After the release of these Z scores, ranks and Z scores of many old syllabus students were reduced drastically, however Z scores of new syllabus students were increased.
The student who ranked first in the art stream according to the previous Z-score had lost her place according to new Z–score, but there had been no changes in the first ten places in the Bio Science, Mathematics and Commerce streams, according to Commissioner General of Examinations W. M. N. J. Pushpakumara.
Commissioner of Examinations said that a special opportunity will be granted for those who wish to apply for the 2012 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examinations under the new or old syllabus in August. He stated that further details can be obtained by contacting the hotline – 1911 or 0112 784 208 , 0112 784 537.
However the Advanced Level Examinations will begin on August 6.
