    @Kavindu

    Well, ummm.., theoritically yes you dont need to have any prior knowledge for thses as I have heared a school student in grade 8, and an adult in 75 years of age has got thrugh the SCJP exams :) so I dont think that will be a hard thing to pass the exam after doing some exam practice.

    But when it comes to your view, indeed, you should be an expert in the field what you studying in that case, if you wanna be a network expert, I recommend you to do some self study on networking, some basic theories like TCP/IP, Network topologies etc., Don’t worry if you dont understan those stuff, but just read.

    Then you can start your CCNA, actually CCNA has 2 Modules called ICND1 and ICND2 (Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices) but, for a beginner it is recommend to follow another module called CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) In the CCENT and ICND1 modules you will learn get the background knowledge and the actual cisco stuff starts from ICND2 .

    Cisco and Microsoft are only 2 product venders and you cant be an expert in networking after having CCNA or MCSE certificates, but you need to practice and use your knowledge in a real world networking environment.

    I believ, by the time you finish your CCNA and (at least) MCP you will be get a chance to work in a small netowrk ot at least you can setup your own CISCO network at your home.

    Please feel free to post more questions if you have.

    Thank you and wishing you a Good Luck :)

    Anuradha

    @Deepal

    You always welcome and you can post any further queries if you have any doubt. Also its a really good news to hear you have decided to follow some professional certifications along with BIT degree, as I told you it will be nice to follow the Java (SCJP) within the 1st year of BIT. I’m sure that will possitively feed back to each other.

    Good luck with your studies :)

    Do you need any pre qualifications to do those professional courses (such as CISCo Microsoft ones etc.)
    If you can do these direct, then, can we become an expert on a particular area without IT degree?
