2010 A/L Tuition classes for students after O/L

Advice for those who are looking for GCE Advanced Level (AL) courses after GCE Ordinary Level (OL) examination in Sri Lanka.

Streams of study

You have to first settle on the stream you are going to study - Science, Commerce or Arts. Science stream consists of Biological science or Physical Science. In Biological Science stream you have to follow Biology, Chemistry and Physics (or Agriculture). Physical scince stream includes Physics, Chemistry and Combined Mathematics.

Popular subjects in Commerce stream consist of Economics, Business Studies and Accounting. In Arts stream students follow various subjects: Sinhala, Logic, Political Science, Geography, Buddhist Civilization, English Literature, Japanese, History and Drama,

If you are going to follow in Science stream then most of the private tuition classes start from 2008 January.

Major Tuition centers in Colombo area

In Colombo area, the major tuition centers are Rotary Hall Nugegoda (Telephone 2820095), Sakya Institute Nugegoda/ Kohuwala (2814908/ 2816882), Louvre Institute Nugegoda (2814908/ 2816882), Shakthi - Bambalapitiya and Colombo 7 and Spina Bambalapitya.

    I am 2010 maths student (sinhala) I am attending a group class for 3 months now. I understand what tutor says , but difficult to do problems alone. It is very difficult to even start solving the problems. When the solution is given it is clear to me.Is there any class where they teach how to solve problems. may be a small group?

    A BIT OF COMBINED MATHS TUITION
    If someone thinks to get a good knowledge of combined mathematics and he or she is searching for a good teacher, they will have to think of, Nirosh Chaminda, D.W.Dangalla, Dushyantha Mahabaduge. If someone tries, he will get to understand why I said that, as combined maths is not a subject like biology.
