Skip or kick whatever that comes in your way. Kick the Advanced Level off if you feel it is getting in your way.
Follow elders’ advice or choose your instinct on your future.
Don’t bother about your results. Be prepared to take whatever that comes with it. It is shameful to go after that Advanced Level thing again if you had enough of it.
You’ll be surprised with the number of opportunities available to you if you do a little survey. Most times you’ll be happy being more than one step ahead of your colleagues who are bothering about the results and preparing to go through the same process again.
If you can work and earn more than 10k/- you are able to follow a degree. Just seek and you shall find.

*-This is more than enough for your future.-*

I agree with your comment on OU cousers. If you have money ( I mean your parents) you can get OU degree in Sri Lanka and spend your money on post graduate studies in overseas.

  50. Shantha says:

After my A/L examination, I registered for Open University course. I am doing Zoology, Botany and Chemistry.
This seems to be a cheaper option to get a degree in Sri Lanka, rather than spending sooo much money on foreign education.
